Rigo’s parents were deported when he was young, and he spent most of his life in foster care. He follows the quickly growing folk religion based on Santa Muerte, the Saint of Death.
Paul dropped out of college after a fight with his father, a laid-off auto worker. He says he’s headed for the Pacific Crest Trail. He’s running from a part of himself that he can’t share with anyone.
Traveling together, they land at a van-camp called Emerald City, a place where vagabonds and nomads of all kinds seek refuge.
At this timeless place, they find common ground, but where will the ghosts of their pasts and their passions lead them?
